Stefan Haun

Dr. Stefan Haun is a civil engineer and since 2019, he is the Head of the Hydraulic Laboratory at the Institute for Modelling Hydraulic and Environmental Systems at the University of Stuttgart. He obtained his doctoral degree in hydraulic and environmental engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim, Norway, in 2012. His research focuses on the development and assessment of integrated flood protection measures in combination with river engineering features and sediment management. One of his particular research interests is the analysis of morphodynamic processes in reservoirs with in-situ methods, laboratory experiments, and numerical models. Since 2014, Stefan Haun has been working as project manager and deputy project manager on 18 national and international projects including the Preparation of guidelines of minimum standards for flood protection for the development in a GCC country. Stefan Haun is the (co-)author of 60 publications, including 3 book chapters and 20 scientific papers. Since 2015, he is serving as scientific advisor of the Baden-Württemberg Young Professional Network of the IAHR and since 2017, he also is a member of the IAHR Flood Risk Management Committee.
