Slim Choura

Slim CHOURA, Professor of Mechanical Engineering, is the former Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research during the period February-July 2020. He was the Director General of Technological Studies at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research during the period March 2019-February 2020, in charge of the Network of Engineering and Pre-Engineering Schools and the Network of Higher Institutes of Technological Studies in Tunisia. He was also the Director General of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research during the period 2013-2019, He has been teaching as university faculty since 1990.

Professor CHOURA’s research interests include robotics, modeling and nonlinear dynamics of microelectromechanical and nanoelectromechanical systems, dynamics and control of flexible structures by confinement of vibrations, energy harvesting in flexible structures, and modeling, dynamic analysis and health monitoring of flexible wind turbines. He was the Associate Editor of the Journal of Mathematical Problems in Engineering. He has been acting as a reviewer for the Journal of Vibration and Control, Nonlinear Dynamics, Journal of Sound and Vibration, ASME Journal of Dynamic, System Measurement and Control, and Smart Materials and Structures. Professor CHOURA has been involved in many research projects sponsored by the National Science Foundation, USA, the Office of Global Educational Programs (USA State Department), the European Community, and the Tunisian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. He published a large number of peer-reviewed journal and conference papers.
